From experience, Field Morey knows Alaska is an incredible area to spend a week of flight training. On this once-in-a-lifetime trip, the majestic scenery and grandeur of the great American wilderness is as important as the seven days of IFR flight training you'll receive, much of it in the kind of real-world IMC that is found in Alaska.
After departure from Medford, you'll cross over into Canada and be introduced to the formalities of clearing Canadian customs using CANPASS. You'll see gorgeous fjords as you travel north along the British Columbia coastline, and after clearing U.S. Customs at Ketchikan, the trip will take you to planned stops at Yakutat, Cordova, Sitka, Juneau, Anchorage and other points of interest. If weather allows, you'll even get a rare glimpse of Mt. McKinley (Denali). Read more |

Mini-Adventure Course
The new Mini-Adventure course is for the pilot who wants to complete his or her rating in a condensed program and would rather learn in a one-on-one cockpit as opposed to partnering up with another pilot. This course is the add-on to the Instrument Prep Course and is also a Five Day program. For the first four days you will travel down to California coast to the LA Basin with Field as your instructor/guide. We will put in four to five hours flight time each day for four days. On day five Field will conduct your IFR checkride if all requirements have been met.
The Mini-Adventure Course in the
2008 Skyhawk 172SP is $4,500 including all aircraft, instructional fees, flight test fee, and charts. Lodging during the course is also included. The 2008 Turbo Skylane T182T may be substituted for an additional $1,100.
