Learn to Fly as a Private Pilot or Earn Your IFR Rating With Our Training Courses
Our three IFR Adventure flights have been very popular for many years, and national interest in these fun and educational flights continues today. Morey's West Coast Adventures now offers two new courses, one designed for certificated private pilots who are seeking their Instrument Rating and another for beginning students just starting out on their wonderful quest to learn to fly general aviation aircraft.
Instrument Prep Course
The new Instrument Prep Course is designed for the pilot who is looking for a complete IFR certification course. It is a five day (20 flying hour) program that will prepare you for the optional "Mini-Adventure" course or the Rocky Mtn Adventure or Alaska Adventure to complete your hour requirements for the rating. During the five days you will work with Field or one of his other CFIIs mastering the instrument skills and "buttonology" of the Garmin 1000 and GFC700 autopilot. We will spend time before each flight using the Garmin Trainer to preview each lesson. The prerequisites for the Instrument Prep Course are that you have passed your Instrument Knowledge Test and hold a private or commercial license and meet the PIC cross-country requirements for the Instrument Rating.
The Instrument Prep Course is $3,900 including all aircraft, instructional fees and charts. Lodging and meals not included. Click here to read about the Mini-Adventure or the Alaska or Rocky Mountain adventures.
Primary Flight Instruction Course
Our Private Pilot course, based in beautiful Medford, OR, offers the student a great opportunity to gain experience for the Private Pilot license (and beyond!). In our modern G1000 equipped 172, we fly challenging crosswinds on the scenic Oregon and California Coast, over beautiful Crater Lake and into some of the smaller local airports. We follow the King Cessna Pilot Center course to keep you on track with your training. With Field and Kammi as your experienced Flight Instructors, you will be well prepared for the most important license a pilot must earn. Field Morey is also an FAA Pilot Examiner.
The 2008 Skyhawk 172SP will also be available for rental. The rate is $145 per hour wet and we offer a reduced rate of $135 in blocks of 10 hours at a time. Renter pilot insurance will be required. |
